My project was to cosplay as the character Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY.  Everything is handmade aside from the base materials: skirt, corset, socks, gloves, boots and wig.  My armor is made from a thermal plastic called worbla and is bonded to craft foam.  My shield is made out of a metal trash can lid and my sword is made out of foam, cardboard, poster board, and PVC pipe.  It took 67 hours of hard work, problem solving, and learning how to use new materials to create my cosplay masterpiece.
